Re: Ovarian endometrioma.....hysterectomy?????????????

Hi there,

Let me vent for one minute. A total hysterectomy is not the answer! Why are GYN’s telling women to get hysterectomies? A hysterectomy should be your last option. More and more research is showing that the reproductive organs help in the fight against other diseases (heart disease).

I myself, have a large cyst in my left ovary (thought to be Endo). I have stage four endo and been fighting this beast since my mid teens.

After my discussion with my Endocrinologist, here are my options – Lupron or Birth Control to see if it would shrink or a transvaginal aspiration (the doctor would drain the cyst vaginally, you would need to see a doctor who performs IVF, and they can do this procedure in their office. It’s similar to the egg retrieval in IVF, instead or the retrieving eggs they are draining the cyst).

I'm having the aspiration done this month.

Do you see a specialist? You should consider finding a doctor who specializes in Endo or consider seeing an Endocrinologist.

Hope this help, LOL
