I'm searching for a doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis and similar diseases and is willing to consider working in conjunction with an alternative healthcare provider. I am struggling getting a diagnosis that makes any sense given my symptoms which include extremely painfull and heavy (although regular) periods. I have had to visit the emergency room twice in the past two years due to debilitating cramps. I am opposed to using birth control pills to control my symptoms as I believe this is an unnatural and potentially harmful means of treatment. If there is something "wrong" with my uterus, wouldn't it be "better" to remove it than expose my body to synthetic hormones? I am a 35 year old active, healthy (other than this problem) single woman who does not want children in the future.
