Lupron Side effectsFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Apr 27 10:10:17 2004
I was wondering if all the women on lupron are ever scared and/or concerned for the health after Lupron. I have read much about the drug and have a very close freind with endo. who took lupron. She took it 5 years ago and is still experiencing some side effects, and they will probably never go away. Aren't you all worried that even though lupron is treating endo now you will never loose any or some of the side effects? Aren't you at all worried that you may be doing more harm than good? Shutting down your pititary gland is a very big thing and doesn't always return to normal function, doesn't that worry you. I have read a few post were young girls are on it and it scares me to think about what they are putting there bodies through at such a young age. All that stress at such a young age, especially when your body hasn't even fullly matured yet, isn't that scary? And no one truly knows what the longer term side effects are, Lupron was only released in the late 80's early 90's. I have read that some women have lots there short term memory, there hair, bone density even after the add back, and that is just to name a few. It just seems to me that it is a very risky drug, especially since it was originaly made for men.
