Possible endometriosis sufferer??From: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Apr 22 23:26:06 2004
I am 26 years old and I have had several problems over the past year that no one could diagnose. It gets progressively worse. I have bad lower back pain, severe pelvic pain, leg pain, feelings of urgency and frequent urination. I recently had an ultrasound which showed a few small cysts on both my ovaries and fluid behind my uterus. I am seeing a new gynecologist and he seemed fine with the results. However, he said if the pain just got unbearable we could do a laparscopic exam. My mother had severe endometriosis and a full hysto. My grandma and aunt had the same thing. So that is a family concern. Well, i should be scheduling my first lap this next month as soon as I can get an appointment. The problem is that I am in ALOT of pain. This doctor seems nice but unsympathetic. I would like for him to prescribe me a pain med but doubtful. I wonder if I should go to my primary physician and see what he would do. He has always been sensitive and willing to give me pain meds to help out. I have not yet been diagnosed with endometriosis but feel like I could be having symptoms. Any advice?
