Angela, They are the same. The following is from Mosby's Drug Guide for Nurses, Fifth Edition.

VICODIN: hydrocodone 5 mg. acetaminophen 500 mg or hydrocodone 7.5 mg. acetaminophen 750 mg.

LORTAB: hydrocodone 2.5 mg. acetaminophen 500 mg. or hydrocodone 5 mg. acetaminophen 500 mg. or hydrocodone 7.5 mg. acetaminophen 500 mg. or hydrocodone 10 mg. acetaminophen 500 mg.
