Thanks for listening to me ramble...take care. >>tizzie. >> >>-- >>tizzie. >> Hi. My endo of the appendix was misdiagnosed for 9 months. I had all the symptoms of an appendicitis and was kept in the hospital for a week for monitoring. The symptoms started with vomiting and right lower quadrant pain. However, the surgeons stated at a large university hospital in Phila, PA that I was not presenting with an appendicitis. They diagnosed endo of the appendix. The CT Scan showed a problem with the appendix. I called my Endo Specialist, asked him about endo of the appendix and if he would do my surgery. He stated endo of the appendix is rare. I was discharged. I suffered with severe right sided pain for 9 months thinking it was my right ureter because I had a right stent placement at the same time for endo. I had GI symptoms and constant yeast infections during the 9 months. I was really ill for many months. When I had my surgery, an enormous amount of adhesions were removed and the endo specialist saw my appendix was hard as a rock. I had endometriosis through and through which he never saw before. Good luck.
-- I have gone to Dr. Tureck for a few years. He has done a few laps on me. The problem with UPenn and the Drs. they are more into fertiltiy issues then treating endo. I have been told this in their office. If you want something more personal, you may not get this at UPenn. They are a busy teaching hospital with many severe fertility and endo cases. Many times they are too busy to address just endo issues.
