Hi Amanda and Welcome! First, don't be mad at yourself. The specialist I was seeing where I previously lived told me that if it was related to my "female parts" that the Lupron would take care of it. Well, as I posted earlier, the first round did help me alot - minimal pain, but the second round is/was a pure nightmare for me!! Everyone is different and reacts differently. The big plus for me through both courses of treatment was not having to deal with AF every month, though I did have alot of "breakthrough" bleeding during my second course. Secondly, as for the whole being careful and using protection, my darling husband and I didn't. We would say he was "practicing" for after the Lupron was out of my system. We were very lucky, but the doctor told me that the chances of me getting pregnant were very remote, so we played with fire. Don't get me wrong I am not in any way saying what we did was right, nor do I recommend this, only telling you of my experience. Thirdly, did the doctor give you any add back therapy to combat the side effects (i.e. the hot flashes, moodiness)? I was put on Norethindrone Acetate 5mg, 1 pill daily and let me tell you that helped TREMENDOUSLY with the above mentioned symptoms. Sorry to report nothing helped the sex drive during treatment, but coming off the first round I was wearing out my darling husband and boy he was all to happy to oblige LOL (sorry if that was TMI). Just try it out and see how it goes for you. If you ever want to chat feel free to email me - TFranklin@se.rr.com . I am home all day. Since moving up to St. Augustine I haven't gotten a job because I would have been fired by now because of the pain being so bad and me calling in or missing work (I am just now coming out of the NIGHTMARE second round). Have faith and everything will work out for the best. Hugs and wishes for a pain free or atleast a good day!!!! Tera
