Re: Having my first laparoscopy on Friday- what to expect?

Hello, I beg to differ but if I had believed everything the nurses and
doctors told me about lap and recovery time, I would have felt like
there was something even more wrong with me than endo. My procedure
lasted 2 hours (and I only have Stage 2 in three places) and it took me
about 6 hours before I was released from hospital. Doc told me "under
an hour" and nurse told me I would be "walking out" of hospital an hour
later. Errr, not quite. I took 2 weeks off work (I am a pre-school
teacher so very physical job) and back at work this week for first time
I am exhausted. Stomach still swollen and a bit sore. But definitely
on the road to recovery. Bu definitely not able to go to the gym (like
I was told I would be able to) and don't expect to for another week or
so and even then, taking it very easy. Recovery DOES depend on how lng
you are under for and what they do/ find. But it's not as bad as it
would be and in the big scheme of things it is a relatively minor
procedure. Your body might take some convincing of that though!
Good luck!
