Good luck:) I have been on Ultram off and on for 2 years. I have come to rely on it for day-to-day functioning. It helps take the edge off of my pain, but does not send me into lala land, allowing me to perform my duties... mom, wife, chauffeur, etc. I take 2-6 per day, depending on my level of pain. I do not want to live this way, but I have pain 28 out of 30 days currently and I am not giving it up. It has become a daily struggle to figure out when I'm going to take it, why am I taking it, how many am I going to take? It consumes me at times. Withdraw symptoms are that of any other addictive pill or drug. I feel like a totally different person when I quit for a week or two. I am having a hysterectomy in May and will be on strong narcotics. I hope to do well with my rehab from surgery and from drug addiction. My dr. is aware of my situation and has agreed to work with me on a medical rehab at home with a support group on my own. I am not ashamed of my addiction. I take full responsibility and know I am going to have a hard time, but I do not like the pain I suffer. It's a total lose/lose situation. I do look forward to living a drug free life.
