Can it come back so soon and major surgeryFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Mar 30 13:29:16 2004
Becky and everyone, If you all just had surgery recently pls be patient. Sometimes the pain can feel as if it's as bad as when you first went in. The reason is b/c of the fact that a lot of work is done. The more work that is done then the longer the recovery. As for whether it can come back that soon after a laparoscopy I would say it's not impossible but I must tell you all (and for those that mentioned about major surgery) that even with major surgery it won't keep the endo from coming back. While it's true that with laparoscopy there is some risk with adhesions to occur there is even more risk with the laparotomy and the recovery is much, much longer. Average recovery time from laparotomy is 6 to 8 weeks. Pls everyone be patient and give your body some time before determining that the endo is back unless you are on a high dose birth control pill b/c yes, sometimes this can aggrivate endo for some women. And when that's the case for them then the lower dose pills like Mircette are the best.
