To Rachel: Depression/Suicidal ThoughtsFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Feb 26 13:47:06 2004
Yes, Endometriosis is hard emotionally, physically & spiritually & am so sorry you are having such a hard time. No room here to tell all my problems & hopes & the joys through it all. A lot of times it has felt like their is no good outcome-a life filled with emotional & physical pain & will it ever end!!!! Faith is so important in all of this, it can help tremendously to get thru the really bad days, months even years. It is important to reach out to others(church, this & other endo support groups...)It is very improtant to not withdraw & hold it all in,start a journal,go to a local church & cry out- ask them to pray for you & support you,get involved & if physically better-force yourself to get out of bed, challenge yourself to take a walk & get out & reach out. It can make a big difference! when others can feel empathy for you & listen & pray with you & for you. I have had faith in God only 5 years, so the difference between now & then is indescribable. To know that their is one above who is hurting with you, feeling your pain & suffering & wanting to hold you & comfort you, all it takes sometimes is crying out to him to feel comfort, other times you can get so mad & would rather not & a lot of times their is no relief from the pain even when begging! for it, but you can have such peace! Nothing ever seems to make sense or seems fair. Not knowing what the future holds is very difficult-Is this all my life is about? but if only I knew what the future held, it would have saved me from so much turmoil. I am 42 & have endo 20 years!!Infertility, pain,Major PMS & so much more. It was so very dark when the PMS was added to the endo. because you have the pain with the depression & estrogen dominance plays a big part in all of this. Are you close to your period starting? My depression/anxiety would start 8 days before period & then the pain would start & then recovery, so it ended up being at least 1/2 of my life consumed with it all. The suicidal PMS I used to have was helped so much by natural progesterone cream-it balances the excess estrogen-takes a few months to notice a difference. If you want to read Tuesdays posts, I noted a lot of websites that can & do actual help women with endo./pain relief...with herbs, vitamins, natural progesterone cream ....I know & do not believe I am the only one with endo. who can be relieved of all of this. I feel great now & feel I have had a blessed life! but when in the midst of it all, it seems their is no way out of it. Please have faith that it will get better. Praying for you, Lori
