After Laparoscopy Problems - Please Respond - Anything AppreciatedFrom: Christina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Feb 25 16:09:00 2004
I am 24 years old and just had my first laparoscopy last Tuesday on the 17th. The doctor found a small amount of endometriosis. The doctor cauterized the endo, and voila surgery was over. I was told that I would be feeling pretty good after 24 to 48 hours after the surgery. Its been 1 week and 1 day and I feel AWFUL! I have a lump a little bigger than a quarter sticking up out of my skin underneath one of the incisions (kinda looks like a tail) and it hurts like heck, and its hard. I'm still swollen, I'm walking like a duck and I have no energy. I even gained about 10 pounds since the surgery. Is this normal at all? I don't go in to talk to my doctor for another week and his nurse is unhelpful. I get the feeling I irritate her to call and ask a medical question, and my doctor doesn't call me back. I feel stupid and guilty for being lazy and not being able to take care of everything around the house. Also, how soon after laparoscopy can you have sex? Thanx, Christina
