Re: continual spotting and CBCPFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Feb 22 16:39:03 2004
It will take your body a while to adjust to the cbcp. I tried several different kinds and bled continuously for two years before my doctor upped my dosage to 1/35, then it took about three tries of that dosage before I found the one that works for me. I have not had a period since August of 2001. I have had the occassional break through bleeding when I have forgotten a pill or at times of high stress, but I have never gone off and allowed myself to have a period. My doctor told me not to, he said it would confuse my body even more. I have found the cbcp to make my life a lot better, but I still have severe symptoms and daily pain from adhesions and endo on my bowels, but I am not debilitated every day of every month with a horrible period. I initially went on regular bcp at age 15 to regulate my period which was, on average, 20 days long with less than a week in between of full all out huge blood clots, thought I would bleed to death, menstration. I am so glad that those days of my youth are over!! I would wait it out a little longer and then ask your doctor if you could try a different type of pill, they all have different amounts of ingredients. Don't give up and don't let your doctor off the hook. Keep in touch with her office and make sure that your concerns are heard, sometimes it can be difficult, but you have look out for yourself.
