I just wanted to clearify some of my past with endo. I am 23 now. I started taking the BC pill when I first started getting my period regularly as a tennager and having so much pain with it. I also have been taking prescription anti inflammatory and pain medication over the years to help cope as well. Then 3 years ago I was diagnosed with a circulatory disease that makes taking any kind of estrogen very dangerous because of my risk of blood clots. So I switched to the Depo Shot for a while but I had very nasty side effects and decided it wasn't worth it. Then when I stopped taking the hormone birth control is when everything got a lot worse. I have been off all BC for 2 years now and every month the pain was getting bigger and harder to handle. So I went searching for a doctor to help me. I found one and she has been great, ran all sorts of tests, ultrasounds and the works, then decided to go ahead and do a lap, and if they confirmed endo, use the laser to remove it. I had 7 areas of endo taken off with the laser. They found some on my appendix too but they it is too dangerous for the laser and it would require another procedure to remove my appendix so they left it and said in the future I could have it removed if I feel I am still havinbg problems. Anyways so I am curious to know about other types of hormone treatments available. Next Thursday is my first followup appointment since my surgery so I have a lot of questions to ask the doctor about what she saw exactly during the procedure. Thanks for letting me share! Andrea
