Hi, I just get so angry when I hear so many stories about women being victimized by ignorant and sexist doctors. I am writing a paper currently on institutionalized gender injustice in the production of medical knowledge, and I really think you guys should read the following book. Its not about endo in particular, but rather about how medical discourse generally constructs women's bodies and bodily functions. I think we all can benefit from some critical perspective on the institution that so much effects our lives, especially those of us with a health problem. The book is by Emily Martin (she's a cultural anthropologist) and its call "Woman in the Body". Great read, and will change the way you think about your body and the medical treatments you choose to engage in.
