Re: Adhesions, Endo and Pregnancy

Drew,

I had the endo found on the left ovary, only my fallopian tube was blocked and it served no purpose to leave it in. I had been trying to get pregnant for 5 months and finally decided to have a lap after a miscarriage. The doctor chose to remove my left ovary because my right ovary was not affected. The endo was contained to the left ovary and tube. I got pregnant a month after my lap and I have a healthy 3 year old girl. I recently had a hysterectomy due to the endo coming back (it has been 4 yrs since my lap and removal of my left ovary) and am trying to recuperate from that. The endo was significant on the left side where my ovary was. It was also on the uterus and right ovary, but I had severe left side pain. He said he stipped my peritoneal cavity there and applied a new medication to prevent adhesions, as they had gotten bad again. I hope to be feeling better after this. He is waiting 3 months to start hormones to prevent to endo from returning, and I am already having hot flashes. He put me on a med for that, but the pharmacy will not have it until tomorrow. When I had my left ovary removed, I ovulated every month from the right side and had a period every month. It was a good choice for me, but the endo did return. I hope this info helps you. Of course not everyone is the same, but I was fortunate to have 3 children before having to take extreme measures.
