Bizarre Improvement

This is not to be taken as any kind of recommendation; I'm just reporting my experience. I was having the worst endo symptoms, fortunately only during my periods, ever since a D&C/hysteroscopy for fibroid and endometrial hyperplasia back in April of 2002. Later, around October 2003, I was "diagnosed" (no biopsy) with "metastatic ovarian cancer" and had 5 liters of bloody ascites removed from my abdomen, which had been accumulating rapidly since summertime, particularly after I took a one-week regimen of Flagyl and Levaquin. They did not analyze the ascites (duh!!!) even though I begged them to. I had, however, had a sample of it analyzed a couple of months before, and the sample showed atypia of cells that appeared to be endometrial in origin, not ovarian. Anyway, the ascites had been accumulating for so long that I couldn't eat very much, even though I still had an appetite, because there wasn't any room for the food. Hence, I lost about 10 pounds of body fat. After the hospital experience and drainage of the fluid, my periods are much better! I'm not writhing around, out of control in pain! The improvement must be due to loss of weight. It has been 4 months and I'm still not accumulating ascites! I think the "ascites" was actually backflow from my menorrhagia into the abdomen, since the bleeding I'd had for years was so profuse as to be "under pressure," forcing it out through the fallopian tubes. But my periods are lighter now, probably again due to loss of weight, so I'm not getting as much bleeding into the abdomen. It is really too bad about the "metastatic ovarian cancer," but I'm not undergoing any surgery or chemo. Therefore, I have become patient non grata and nobody wants me on their service, which is understandable. It's really a trip. But I feel well now, and that's good enough for me!
