I had my lap 3 days ago. The nurse told me I could not leave until I urinated, but I couldn't--then finally about 2 drops came out so she said I could leave (urrggh). Well, that night I ended up in the emergency because I had such urgency and although I could urinate, the flow was very slow. They sent me home with the catheter (ouch), and I took it out the next AM on Dr's instructions. Well two days later I'm still having a very light flow and in the past few hours have developed pain and frequent urination, along with a strange pungent smell of urine. Called the DR and he prescribed Bactrim, which I just started. This whole thing is a nightmare! SO I feel for all of you who gave developed bladder problems after lap.
