endo and ortho evraFrom: Alicia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Feb 4 19:00:07 2004
I was diagnosed with endo in 2002. Since the laparoscopic diagnosis, I have had a lupron treatment which I got pregnant on. My baby is almost nine months old now and I can't even enjoy my time with her because I am in so much pain. I have been on ortho evra since 3 months post partum and my doctor wants to do another round of lupron since birth control isn't helping (which I said it wouldn't in the first place). I didn't mind being on lupron, hardly any side effects, just hot flashes, but my bone density has decreased tremendously and I'm scared on long term effects. I have two questions. The first, what are my other choices? Second, stupid me, I picked up my ortho evra refill yesterday and left it in my car overnight in below freezing temperatures. The box says not to store below 59 degrees. Is this going to change their effectiveness to reduce pregnancy?Doctors told me once that I will most likely never be able to have children and they were wrong then. As much as I would love to have another one, now is not the time. That leads into my words of wisdom to all of you trying to conceive: don't give up hope! Thanks.
