Re: Possible Pregnancy while taking Lupron????From: Allie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jan 29 05:29:20 2004
You CAN get pregnant while on Lupron! This is why they recommend using barrier methods of birthcontrol(condoms, diaphrams, etc.). I think there is a greater risk of having an ectopic pregnancy, which is dangerous to both you and the embryo. You need to talk to your doctor. An at home pregnancy test may work, but still you should talk to your doctor. Also, start using a condom or something, because taking Lupron when there's a high chance of becoming pregnant is not good. However, many of the symptoms you deescribed are common with Lupron. What HRT are you doing? Hopefully not estrogen, since that's what adds to the endo's growth--which is why treatments such as Lupron and other GnRH analogs work: they slow estrogen production and induce a false menopause. Good luck,
