Re: Ultram - addiction

Like many, I was given Ultram because it supposedly "acts like a narcotic but is not addictive or harmful like narcotics." My doctor said, "Why don't you try this?" So I read your post about its addictive qualities with much interest. I only took Ultram intermittently for 2 months, because I felt too weird on it to continue. So my doctor put me back on the Toradol. On Ultram, I would feel dazed and immobile. The pain would be gone, but I would have to call in sick to work becasue I couldn't physically move or trust myself to drive. My head would be swimming. I wish you luck in getting off of Ultram, and I hope that a place like the Endometriosis Reasearch Center will take a role in informing doctors of how Ultram can affect their patients. --Liss

He assured me that this was completely safe. Now I know that it is not and I am in the second day of no medicine. I was taking 2-50mg twice a day and with needing 2 knee replacements it helped wuth the pain. Now I don't know how to get over this feeling. How long will this last. Please give me some idea when I will get my life back. I wish that I had never heard of this medicine.
