Re: Endometriosis and IVF

Drew,

I have read that some doctors think that the reason that endo can cause infertility is due to a lack of a certain enzyme that is necessary for an embryo to attach itself to the wall of the uterus that a lot of women with endo apparantly lack. So in a lot of cases, the woman with endo can make a good embryo, but due to lacking this enzyme, the embryo cannot attach to the uterus and is therefore flushed out of the body. What I was reading said that this is a new discovery and they are hoping to create a synthetic form of the enzyme to administer to women with endo who are experiencing infertility with the hopes that it will allow successful implantation of the embryo. I am sorry that I cannot remember where I read this, but perhaps you could research it or at least ask your doctor about it.

God Bless!!
