I have been taking Ultram for about 2 years for a herniated disc. The
doctor who kept me on this medication told me it wasn't addictive..and
now I am seeing a new Primary Care Doctor..and she said no one should
ever be on this medication for this long. There are long term
effects...what are these? She is now trying to help me get off of
these..which I know is gonna be so hard, I am up to 2 pills every 4
hours, not to exceed 8 pills a day. She said I will go through
withdrawls which I know already cause when I didn't take them every 4
hours exactly..I was going into cold sweats and hot sweats, and tired oh
my, I would get so tired my eyes would water.
I am so scared to go through these withdrawls. In the next two weeks i
have to be down to 1 pill every dose, and two pills at bedtime...
I dont' know if I can do it. Any encouraging advice..

>>>To anyone reading this letter please be careful of taking ultram. I was perscribed it 4 years ago and told the dr that I would not take anything that was addictive. He assured me that this was completely safe. Now I know that it is not and I am in the second day of no medicine. I was taking 2-50mg twice a day and with needing 2 knee replacements it helped wuth the pain. Now I don't know how to get over this feeling. How long will this last. Please give me some idea when I will get my life back. I wish that I had never heard of this medicine.
