Re: endometriosis link to hypothyroidism

I don't know if there is a link between hypothyroidism and endo, but on my last exam my thyroid levels came up low. The doctor(actually a nurse-pract. because I couldn't see my regular doctor and had to go to the university health center) said that taking birth control pills will cause your results on a thyroid test to come out low. She said that there is nothing to worry about, but I am concerned because the people at the health center are not very smart. I mean, I also have an elevated calcium level in my blood and they don't want to do anything about it, said it is no big deal, only I found out that it is a big deal and will lead to severe osteoporosis at a very young age, and that it is usually caused by a problem with the parathyriod glands. I can't get to my regular doctor because of insurance problems right now, so if anyone can ask their doctor about this, I would really appreciate it. Antoher interesting note, no one else in my family has endo, but my mom just recently found out that she has hypothyroidism.
