Re: back from lap (venting)From: Laura (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jan 20 13:42:13 2004
Kelly, What you're going through really sucks, but if it makes you feel even a little bit better try to remember that you're not alone! The same thing has happened to lots of the ladies on this discussion board, including me. I started experiencing excruiating pain with my periods last year, and I researched a lot and came to the conclusion that it was endo. I had a lap in December, which was terrible--my doc made way bigger cuts than he said he would and one of my incisions felt like it was on fire for about two weeks--and the worse part was that afterwards he said, "no endo, you're a perfect specimen." I was so upset because I knew that I had endo and he just hadn't found it, and that all of the pain from the surgery (as well as missing time at work) was a complete waste. Not to mention the scars! :( If I can offer you any advice I would say do what I'm now doing: Switch doctors! Most of the ladies here had to go to several doctors before they found a good one who properly diagnosed them. If you think you have endo and your doc didn't find it then you need to get a second opinion! Chin up, you'll find a good doctor eventually who will finally be able to tell you what's wrong with you and do something about it. Don't listen to doctors who say "it's just the way your periods are." That's crap! Good luck, and remember you're not alone! Laura
