Re: Is your dr. just a OB/GYN, or is he/she a RE or a endo specialisit....From: Jennifer (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Dec 29 21:16:18 2003
Would personally suggest a specialist -- finding the best doctor you can afford. Personally, switching to a women's health group in my area for proximity, though they are very familiar with endo and seem to be experienced. Most recent lap was with one of the specialists. Were any tissues / lesions removed and sent to pathology? that confirms endo. Any adhesions? Do you have a copy of the op report -- that is really helpful for meeting with any doctor. Are you having other issues? It is possible for someone not well versed in endo to miss it -- it comes in different colors and can hide if they don't look thoroughly. And for me, if I am going in for surgery and already in severe pain -- I want the best doctor possible to be sure it all comes out and they don't screw up. And so they can help me with follow-up if I have lingering issues.
I would get a second opinion. Especially if the pain is interfering
with your daily life.
Best,
Jennifer
