I am scheduled at the end of this month to have them removed. Mine are luckily not infected but my body is still reacting to them, and it is quite painful, my neck will get so swollen i can barely swallow. sometimes it can take up to a year for the stitches to dissolve, my doctor says for some reason my body will never dissolve them they will either cause pain or begin to break through the skin.
