Told of operation today......freaked out!!!From: lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Nov 26 16:11:43 2003
Hi I am 20 years old and around 8 months ago i was diagnosed with stage 2 endo and adhesions where my bowel was stuck to my abdominal wall. After seeing many doctors, suffering continous bleeding despite constant pill, and oh so horrible pains i have been told today (went to see really good doc) i will be having an op to remove endo, remove adhesions, have a coil fitted to stop bleeding, and also a hysteroscopy(sp) to see if there are poloyps and to check out apparent varicose veins. All of these things i never knew i had have come as a surprise and he even thinks i have adenomyosis and a large uterus which has freaked me out! Although i am really happy i finally have found a fabulous doctor i am worried about this operation. I know it will be under general anesthetic (which i hate) but I never asked the questions i should have. I wanted to know how long i would have to stay in hospital for (hate hospitals:() and what the recovery time would be. I am worried because it is the bowel, does the fact that it involves the bowel make it more serious? I will do anything to make the pain and bleeding stop so i guess i am asking whether anyone has heard of these procedures or can anyone offer advise? Thank you Lisa
