Re: Excessive BleedingFrom: D.N. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Nov 26 07:36:10 2003
Hi Tami, Yes, I had a similar thing happen and I had fibroids. It is not uncommon for women with endo to have fibroids or visa versa- since it is related to estrogen. When I was bleeding really heavy it was 2 super tampons and a pad in 20 minutes. I went to the ER. I was dehydrated. This was 5 days before my hysteretomy was schedule They gave me IV fluids. Make sure you are drinking lots of fluids. Your doc will more than likely have you start and iron supplement too, if you aren't already on one. My bleeding had increased during about a year and a half time. I was always had heavy bleeding with my periods, but it kept getting worse and worse. What ever you do, don't let your doc just write it off to hormonal changes. Make sure they do an ultrasound. My doc wrote it off as aging and hormonal changes and it made things very difficult for me. You know your body better than anyone, if something doesn't feel right, find a doc who will listen to you. Best wishes, D.N.
