Excessive BleedingFrom: Tami (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Nov 25 12:07:48 2003
Hi! I just stumbled across this site and thought I would see if anyone has a similar story. First, I have a history of endometriosis and have been through countless laps to treat it, bc pills, etc. I recently gave birth to my 3rd child (each one is a miracle to me as I was told my chances for getting pregnant and holding a baby were slim). I just stopped breastfeeding my 10 month old last month. I'm on my 3rd period now. It started 12 days ago. The first day was somewhat heavy, though the next day was out of control and on for a few days. I was soaking things every 20 minutes. I passed many large clots and had a huge amount of bleeding. My OB prescribed Ovcon 3x a day for 5 days to get my hormones in check. I have taken those and continued on in the evening (1x day). So, once I was on the Ovcon, it became a somewhat normal, but heavy, period. Yesterday (and today), the flow has gone back to VERY heavy. I'm soaking a super tampon and pad every 20 minutes. I made an appointment to see my OB this afternoon. She said they will more than likely do bloodwork and an ultrasound to see what is going on. Has anyone else had anything similar to this? I assume that since I've regulated the hormone issue and the bleeding is still very heavy, it is not related and is not a period. Thanks in advance! Tami
