Hi Melanie I have had constant pain all the time too. At times I find it very frustrating and I can only speak from my own experience that my constant pain has either to do with having an adhesion or having nerve damage. I am currently taking Epilim (Valproate) a drug prescribed to people with Neuropathic pain and Epilepsy. The rationale for it is that there is some underlying nerve damage or dysfunction contributing to the pain. This can be for example from nerve injury following surgery or from the damage endo causes in the pelvis. Apparently, according to my info sheet in front of me here, the medication sometimes works becuase "hyperexcitability of groups of nerve cells is the reason for Neuropathic pain and Epilepsy". In comparison to other pain medications (voltaren, acupan, vioxx, celebrex, panadeine, panadol, cataflam) hormone treatments (provera, depo-provera, dimetriose, zoladex) and surgery (four times) I have tried, so far this has been the most effective with minimal cost and side effects (drowsiness, short-term memory difficulties and a feeling of disconnectedness - apparantly these fade with time). I am feeling much happier in myself, participating fully at work and sleeping well. It is a long term treatment, about two years, so I am hopeful that this time it will work out and maybe useful information for others too. Kind regards, Jude.
