Re: Endometriosis caused by c-section?????????From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Nov 15 17:11:10 2003
D. I see one of the top surgeons in the country and he clearly states that nobody knows how we get endo...otherwise if we did there would be a cure. The endo assoc and books will tell you the same thing. Perhaps your c-section aggravated your endo or it was just coincidence it ended up around that area. A lot of people do have it in and around their c-section scars years later. When I had my first endo surgery with my regular obgyn and he didn't remove it, I got my period the next day (after surg) and it was twice as bad as it had been before. I have since had 2 other surgeries with my awesome surgeon yet within a year it came back..alot. I have stage iv endo and also have my video from the surgeries - endo can be quite aggressive when it wants to be. Bottom line -I am just saying your surgeon shouldn't be telling you something that's not known..otherwise it might get people worked up about having c-sections when they don't need to be. Good Luck
