Carissa, No one will be able to tell you when you can stop taking your pain meds except you. It is all individual. When you no longer need them, stop taking them. I personally have not ever stopped taking advil. I take between 1000 and 2400 milligrams a day, and that's on a good day. If you are able to function without any pain meds, then consider yourself blessed. As for your question about BCP, there is no right answer. It is really just trial and error. It took me over a year and a half to finally find a BCP to take continuously that actually stopped my period. I have been without a period now for over two years. But my pain wasn't tied in with my period only. I have continuous pain. It has been getting worse lately so I am trying to get another surgery done. Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot known about endo, so you basically just do whatever you can find that works for you. I wish you a speedy recovery! Jules
