Yes Terri ... you will have to take HRT if you have ovaries removed. If it is not necessary, try to keep them. I'm not sure if you have had a second opinion on your need for a hysterectomy, but I have had endo for 20+ years and even with the pain and infertility, I have managed to hang on to everything. For me it would be the ultimate last resort. I know it is a very personal choice and I can only speak for myself, but to manage pain and feelings is far preferable to dealing with hormone problems, commonly reported lack of sensation (sexually) and the depression (and various other symptoms) often assoc. with hyst. I will deal with the devil i know, rather than face the devil I don't know. :) Good luck in whatever you choose!~ L~
