continuous birth control

I do not understand why if you are on continuous birth control that your body still cycles anyway. If it is being used to suppress the cycle why at the same time of the month do you have the endo pain? When it was used continuously for a year there was no problems. Now, that stopping every four months to have a period, there is endo pain all the other months at the same time. Are some pills better than others. Exactly what strengths are the bests. What causes the emotional mood swings in these pills? Thank you.
