Re: Lupron Shots, new endo diag, Nuvaring Experience Anyone?

Hello,

I just this week received the (assumed, no lap yet) diagnosis of endo, combined with strong probability of no ovulation based on no temp spikes. I am 29, married, looking forward to starting our family soon. Haven't tried to get pregnant yet. Have delt with endo pain for 10+ years, told it was just cramps, normal, etc. until now. Oddly, Ibuprofen worked well for me but now am intollerant, tried many RX but nothing works, now on codene which helps a little but hate feeling drugged. We are overwhelmed with the idea of possible problems getting pregnant... feels like a bad episole of Sex and the City.

Today had very long discussion with 2nd doc seen this week, recommended Lupron which sounds horrible. So have opted to try a few months of nuvaring with hopes that it may help with pain, reduce inflamation, prevent further damage. Doc was skeptical that the nuvaring can effect the edno cells beyond the uterus, but I am intollerant of BC pills (they make me severely depressed) so am hoping this is worth a try. Does anyone have experience with Nuvaring?

Scary to not know how bad the endo is, what kind of damage, what kind of fertility challenges we are going to face... Doc didn't recommend lap though since we are not totally ready to try for pregnancy.

Glad to find this discussion group. If anyone has any input I'd love to hear it. I am still so unclear on the endo-fertility link, how women deal with it, etc. Feels like this big, dark forest I am suddenly lost in.

Thanks, Sierra
