My doctor has recently recomended a hysterectomy. There are many hormonal treatments on the market that one can use to slow or halt the growth of endo (Some work for some people, and not for others, a they have some bad side effects.) Most doctors do a laparoscopy and remove the endo that they can see, but they can't remove microscopic endo, so it eventually returns. There is NO cure at present for endo. I have stage 4.

Your friend needs to see a good endo doc that can monitor her and recomend a treatment to make her more comfortable. Perhaps she would like to join us here sometime, it really helps to speak to people who understand what you are going through.
