Hi Jenny,

Have you had your FSH and estradiol levels checked lately. Are you having hot flashes, insomnia, etc? It sounds very much like you are not menopausal. I have just a small remnant of an ovary. After the surgery that left me with that remnant, I thought I had gone though menopause because of my symptoms and the blood tests showed that I was. However, about 4 months later, I was having a familar feeling of ovulation and feeling like I was having a period. I turned out they found out about the remnant and my blood levels showed I was not menopausal. The chances of menopause with leaving one ovary behind are really pretty small.

Talk to you doc about having your blood levels check and having a transvaginal ultrasound. The transvaginal ultrasound is a great tool to see what is going on with the ovaries.

Best wishes, D.N.
