Re: Cauterizing endo and birth control pills as relief from symptoms?

Just wanted to share some experiences with the continuous bcp. My
sister was diagnosed with endometriosis when she was 19 years old. After
her surgery she was on continuous bcp for about 10 years and never took
a break for a period. Anyway, after she went off the pill, she got
pregnant, had a baby boy and is now pregnant with her second. So, the
pills helped her from getting the endo back, preserved her fertility,
and don't make you infertle. Secondly, I myself didn't get diagnosed
with endo until I was 31 years old. The endo had all those years to
completely ruin my insides and my fertility is badly affected. I did
the continuous bcp for a year and a half after my first surgery which I
felt great the whole time. I went off them to become pregnant and
slowly but surely the pain and all the other problems came back. I am
now, after having another surgery, attempting IVF in hopes of getting
pregnant because my tubes are useless. So, in my opinion, not only does
the bcp not make you infertle, I think it preserves your fertility in
the long run. Good luck in making your decision. Let us know what you
decide.
