I was searching for an old high school friend on yahoo and because your name matches hers, the search brought me to this message. However, I am not writing you in the hope that you are her. Instead, I have to tell you that I feel like fate brought me to this message. You see, I endured the unbearable pain of endo for over 13 years most of them spent not knowing what was wrong with me. Finally I was diagnosed but told that the disease had progressed beyond help (stage 4) and that all the could do was put me on Lupron for a year take me off long enough to get pregnant and then perform a complete hysterectomy. I was only 24 and newly married. The Lupron was so awful and they had already ruled out more surgery. I started doing research thourgh books, on-line, anywhere I could. I found a message center and talked with other endo victims. Finally, I sought the financial assistance of my parents and headed to California from Ohio to meet with Dr. Andrew Cook. I am not going to lie to you. He is VERY expensive and my United Healthcare insurance did not cooperate very well. Still, he changed my life. He performed excision of the endo and scar tissue. While he was in there, he found that I had a large hernia that had to be repaired and my appendix was enlarged so he removed it. The hernia surgery alone saved my life. Even after reviewing my previous surgery notes he hadn't expected the endo to be quite so bad when he went in. He provided me with a video of the surgery and I was shocked to see all of the evil blackness growing within me. Dr.Cook took a total approach by testing for allergies and anything else that would make my stomach hurt. He found that I had IC - a bladder disease common in over 80% of endo patients. So anyway, after the surgery I felt 95% better, at least far far better than I had in years. Dr.Cook put me on Yasmine 25 continuously to prevent the endo from growing back, although he has a high success rate of endo not returning to his patients after he has performed excision. The final step to complete wellness was when he sent me to a physical therapist. She worked internally stretching my scar tissue and relaxing my muscles for the first time in 14 years. The therapy was very painful but went quickly because I did the exercises at home. Now I can have sex pain free. I have talked to other women who had underwent many surgeries with many surgeons and did not have these results. I have also talked to women and read testimonials in a book in Dr.Cook's office from women who were treated by him and had the same results as I did. I am not saying he is a miracle worker but I wish every woman with endo could be treated by him. If you want more info. just email me back at lavernandshirley@juno.com

Good luck with your fight.
Believe it or not, it is possible to overcome even the worst of it.
