Re: Birth control & hot flashes?

Hot flashes can be related to a drop in estrogen, like what happens in menopause. When you are on the pill, your hormone levels are lowest right before you take your pill. When you take your pill, the hormone levels peak within a few hours, then drop sharply and continue to drop until you take your next pill. You might do better if you try a pill with slightly more estrogen. Or you could try the ring or patch which give you more of a steady dose of hormones throughout the day. What pill are you on?
