Because the laws change frequently, because the changes are not always announced publicly or written in clear language we ask that you please call your local insurance commissioner's office to find out what the laws are in your state rather than relying on information posted to this forum. Please realize that health insurance is not uniform in all 50 states of the US nor are policy rates, coverage and exemptions or definitions. A very handy website is the National Association of Insurance Commissioners website http://www.naic.org/ where you can probably find - or find links to - anything you need to know. You can also go to GOOGLE and put in "insurance commissioner" and get the individual state listings.
