You're not going to be running around, energetic, or extraordinarily happy on Christmas, but you won't be completely out of commission. I had my lap in June at 6 am and slept all day that day, the following day, and the day after that. Then I started walking around, eating light solid food. A week later I was at my job in the Poconos as a camp counselor (couldn't really RUN until two weeks after lap). Also, watch the post lap bleeding. That was real unpleasant, lasted a week after.
