Re: 'Permanents' as in permanent waves in hair - Did you get these? Any possible link to Endo? From: Rachelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Oct 16 16:09:41 2003
I remember the year 1990-a black mother earth sat in front of me-I was so grateful to have her as my gorgeous doc. (I knew she was going to be the one to solve this big pain.) I burst into tears, "I'm a vegetarian & my teeth are crap, too. did I create all this turmoil in my body by not eating meat?" (year 7 of the the "endo dance...")"Absolutely not," she blinked, shuffling papers in a folder, "in fact you're better off without meat."Why do I retell this? B/c I think we as women & as victims of the medical community & female crap, tend to find ways to blame ourselves for this painful bloody mess we are in. If it weren't hair care products or what we ate or didn't eat, wouldn't it be something else. I blamed the onset of symptomatology on the starting of going to the gym 7/dayz/week & grad school concurrently & was pretty good at stacking a deck in favor of me fukkkkkkkkkking myself up.Let it rest, folks, "shoulda, woulda, coulda" ain't a fun dance. The bottom line might be that women's medicine is still pretty bad. & after all, we are "used to all this". Remember my doc saying that no male would do more than a day of this???Longitudinal studies, with early intervention I think is one option. Like my mom & her half sisters all had female crap. I should have been put on prevention treatment or at least when I started passing big clots so young, _______________________________________________ No banners. No pop-ups.
