anyone have belly button pain? what can be done about it?From: holly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Oct 16 13:44:24 2003
i'm kind of embarrassed to bring this up. it's such a minor thing. but ever since my second lap, i've had lots of trouble with my belly button stinging and hurting. doc did have to do an open laparoscopy, so my incision is a little long. it feels like there's a wasp stinging it or a needle going through it. i don't know what to do about it or if it's normal. it doesn't happen all the time. but it's starting to happen more frequently (a few times a day). and when the stinging starts, i practically double over from it. and it's starting to spread up toward my breastbone too. so, is this just something with the nerves in there? is it ever going to stop? is there anything i can do when it happens? it does happen all the time when i'm working out, so i know that sweat can cause it. but it happens at other times too. like when i'm teaching or trying to sleep or standing or sitting or in the shower. i thought it was from because i was wearing clothes with a tight waistband, but even when i'm wearing clothes with a low-rise waistband, it happens. grr. my doc doesn't know what it is and can't help me. i just figured perhaps someone here could tell me. at least give me an idea how to stop the pain. sorry this is long.
