Re: Pain all the time???

Sara, I can totally relate to your story--I too have been trying to get pregnant for over a year and had no idea I had endo--just thought I had REALLY bad periods--until I had my first lap in Feb. 03. I have stage IV endo with bilateral endometriomas (that's two, baby!), one was ruptured and my appendix was involved as well. My doctor didn't prepare me for what would happen post-op and I was surprised to find myself having hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms afterward, due to the doc only leaving 1/3 of each ovary inside me. My periods have been crazy ever since--It took four-five months just to get one and then I either get two periods per month or none at all. I would really suggest asking a million questions before your lap, I wish I did. Mine was outpatient and but I swear I could have stayed at the hospital overnight because when I got home, I got really sick (vomited everywhere because of the anetstesia (sp?)). Plus, I had trouble getting around or getting out of bed because the pain was so bad. I attribute this to the appendectomy, however.

I don't know what the future holds for my fertility and it totally sucks to put it off so long as I did (I'm 37 and had always put my career first) and not to get pregnant when I wanted. I also have to deal with everyone at work popping out babies and I also work with pregnant teens! Life is not fair!
