Re: fatigue and low grade feversFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Oct 13 11:12:44 2003
Jordan, I know that endo can cause high levels of fatigue. I have Stage 3 endo and am always tired, no matter how much sleep I get. I think my body is just always run down from fighting endo 24/7. Besides the pain, the fatigue is my biggest complaint about having endo. On the weekends, I have to take an afternoon nap, even if I slept in that morning, just to get through the rest of the day and evening. During the week while I am at work, I just muddle through the best I can. As far as the fever goes: I too tend to run a low grade fever, off and on. I have been to my regular Doc about this and have been tested for mono and other things, yet all is well. Even taking antibiotics doesn't make it go away, so I am just assuming that it must have something to do with endo. Maybe it is due to the inflammation of the adhesions? Not sure. If you are really concerned, it certainly wouldn't hurt to talk to your OB/Gyn about it or even your primary care doctor. I have also read that women with endo have a lower immune system (they think this could be a possible cause of getting endo in the first place-a weak immune system can't fight it off) so I have also wondered if a lowered immune system makes me prone to on and off fevers. Mine never tend to run more that a half to a degree high. Hope this helps! Feel free to email me direct if you want to talk more. Hugs! Amy Meyer
