Re: Bruised from the inside out?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Sep 30 21:58:10 2003
I am 35 and I have known I have endo for 18 years now. I do have the same sore, bruised feeling. Almost like I've been kicked and bruised badly; it is in the same location every time. If your doctor hesitates to do a laparoscopy, you may want to see another doctor at an entirely different location/practice. See http://www.centerforendo.com for some very informative material (if you haven't already been there). If the endo is there, BCP, Lupron, Depo Provera, all only put off the inevitable laparoscopy with either excision or laser. Usually these meds are for post surgery to try and keep the endo at bay. It often comes back. I have had 2 laps w/laser. I am considering the Merina IUS for the progesterone effect. Since it is localized in the uterus there are supposed to be fewer hormonal side effects as compared with the injections or pills (http://www.mirena-us.com). Research on endo has come a long way. It is frustrating to deal with but with forums like these and doctors who keep up-to-date, a brighter future is on its way.
