Dear Terese,

I can completely relate to your story and my heart goes out to you. I have had endometriosis for 13 years (started when I was 15 years old), and have endured numerous surgeries, medications, hormones, emergency room trips, etc. My first few periods after the laps were AWFUL as well and I too have attempted many birth control pills with every side effect in the book. I'm personaly not surprised that your cycle is late...all of the stress your poor body has gone through as of late has most likely put your body is a state of shock. The constipation is more of a concern and you should probably get some stool softners going immediately. When your period does return (for me at least) it is better to not tack on gas / bloating pains on top of your regular menstrual cramping pains. I would expect your period to return soon; I can remember my body reacting similarly and I really believe it just goes through an adjustment period.

I am new to this site and am shocked by the amount of empathy I am feeling for you and every one who has posted a message on here...I had no idea that so many women were openly speaking about their problems with this ugly disease. I am off to yet another obgyn appointment tomorrow and my doctor would like for me to start yet another birth control pill. I had my first baby 14 months ago (after several failed attempts)and once again my endo is back in full swing. I used to think it was difficult taking care of myself during my pain, but now taking care of my sweet baby is quite the task when I am keeled over with my heating pad glued to my stomach and debating if I should take a strong pain pill in his prescence. Life is weird...I just can't understand why some of us are dealt these cards. I pray you feel better soon and I wish you the best of luck.

Sincerely, Kimberly
