20 years old with possible endometriosisFrom: Leslie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Sep 27 15:44:32 2003
Hi I'm new to this forum, and just needed someone to talk to. I'm 20 years old and have had really bad periods since the age of 14. I've been to several doctors over the years and all have told me just to take tylenol and deal with it. This past month has been the worst ever. I started my period on September 2, it ended on the 5th and the pain is still going on today. I've been to the Women's Clinic at Texas A&M University in which I attend, and they seem to think endo may be the problem. They referred me to an obgyn, which told me that I was too young to have endo, and that it does not run in families (my mom, aunt, and grandmothers on both sides of the family have been diagnosed). I have decided to get a second opinion, and will be going to Houston on monday to see Dr. Robert Franklin, a specialist in the field of pelvic pain, infertility, and endo. I don't know what to expect from the visit. I'm scared, and in pain constantly. Any words of encouragement? -Leslie-
